google “student loans” and a bunch of banks will pop up. check them out and see what they can offer you. unless you already have credit of your own w an income, it will all be based on your parents’ credit and they’ll probably have to cosign so make sure they can do that. after you select which bank you want to go through, call them up and theyll set everything up for you! =] It’s not too late but do it soon

should I wait to receive my “official” financial aid letter or just go through with the “unofficial” numbers?
plzz respond quickly

The official aid offer is out. Check your financial aid.

Generally, you want to get all the available loans from the federal government that you can before looking into private lenders. Private lenders usually have higher rates, and they’re known to be less forgiving if you need leniency during your repayment period. The government’s loans also have fixed rates, which eliminates some of the uncertainty that variable rate student loans could cause during the repayment period.

Just by submitting the FAFSA, you became eligible for unsubsidized Direct Loans - when the Financial Aid department went through your FAFSA, they determined whether you were eligible for subsidized Direct Loans (that is, loans where (1) you aren’t charged interest as long as you are in school, and (2) your loans have a lower interest rate after graduation). As an aside, you can only borrow up to $5,500 in Direct Loans your first year, so you’d still need to come up with the rest some other way - perhaps then you can look to private lenders, though I’m loathe to suggest that you take out more loans.

So, no, it’s probably not too late, and if you can accept your loans through the My Aid Status pages, you should do that now.
