I guess it’s about time to start this thread because I can’t remember who received what. If you have received an LOA or Appointment to USAFA, please put wether it was an LOA or appt., the date received, and who you recieved a nomination from (if applicable).

I have recieved a Letter of Assurance; it was recieved on Thursday November 17th (They officially gave it to me a day before, on Wednesday the 16th). I haven't gotten the official letter yet in the mail, but it should be within the next week.

OK, got the official LOA today (Nov 18th) after hearing about it from my MOCs office. Am having my nomination interviews this weekend. Will keep posting on this thread when the nomination occurrs. Cngrats to both of you!

My status on the USAFA website lists me as having been offered an appointment. I have not received it in the mail yet, but hope to see it in the near future. I have a presidential nomination so that allows me to receive an appointment even though the OH MOCs have not finalized their decisions. Good luck to everybody!

Out of town for three days and guess what's in the mail.

An LOA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It's great seeing how many people on here have recieved these letters.

Mine was also dated on the 16'th.

I'm going crazy!

Congrats, Falconhopeful06!

Way to go!

Not-The-Momma's son - LOA dated 11/16.

ALO said there were about 76 LOA's in the first batch.

Again, we're all very proud of you. Cheers!

76, huh. I have heard that the first batch gives out the most, and each successive batch gets smaller and smaller (considering the rolling admissions).

Hey all I'm on my dads blackberry in the room I wanted to say congrats to falcon hopeful and ask wat state ur from.also my congressman's review board said they think ill get the kiss of approval so knock on wood. Congrats again ill check when I get home to good old north jersey

Patriot I would think It would be less than more... The top canidates first, than the rest of the applicant pool-- i heard most get in between january and march... could be wrong though

Yeah, I've heard that on average, only about 20% of the entering class recieved an LOA every year (from my friends dad, who is an Liaison Officer in the Syrause NY area.) That would mean, out of ~1000 people, thats around 200. Most people get in through regular admissions, so people with LOA's are very much in the minority.

So there is still hope if i havent gotten anything yet?

Of course there is! Not all of the LOA's have been given out yet, so there is still a good chance that'd you get one in the next batch. Also, even if you don't get an LOA, the vast majority get in without LOA's, so you shouldn't lose any hope right up until the last day (in the HIGHLY unlikely event that you don't hear by then).

When is that "next batch" ?

I don't think anyone knows that.

Does anyone know if the board only meets on like Mondays and Tuesdays and then send letters so they are recieved Fridays and Saturdays or if they meet Monday-Friday and people could potentially receive letters Monday-Saturday?

I guess each batch is like every week at each review board, but I have no clue of the exact details

When you think about it, of the first batch, 10% of the people are on these boards. I think that's pretty nifty!
