Local Admissions Rep and demonstrated interest??

I keep hearing all of this stuff about students contacting their local admissions representatives and showering them with supplements and letters telling them how much they love Yale. Is this a practice that every applicant should take part in to demonstrate interest?

The way I showed my interest was to send my interviewer a hand-written thank you note, which is just common courtesy. The reason why I didn't contact my local rep was that I REALLY don't like being a kiss ***, it just disgusts me. Does Yale even care about Demonstrated Interest?

Pretty sure they don’t really bother.

No reason why they should choose an inferior candidate (who visited campus 5 times) over a superior one who has never. They are Yale. They expect everyone they accept to attend…

They will take the best, regardless (imo)

Yeah there are schools that care about demonstrated interest like Washu

Yale and other top schools usually don’t, because, as the above poster said, they are not going to sacrifice the quality of the incoming class. schools like Harvard yale and their peers do not have to worry about the yield rate.
