Does anyone know how many of northwestern's students are from Illinois? I can't seem to find the number anywhere.

From a brochure I have on my desk, for class of 2016, there were 8 states wth 300+ students. IL, MN, OH, NY, NJ, CA, FL, and Texas. If you do a google search for NU 2016 or 2017 class profile, you may find more specific numbers. NU clearly pulls the most from IL but these other large states are also highly represented.

According to NUs 2012 common data set, 71% of all students were out of state. So 29% of 8,600 students are instate - about 2500 students are from IL.

Thanks!

Just curious, why do you ask?

I don’t have anything against Illinois kids, but I’m comparing this school to Rice which is literally half Texans, and I was wondering about the levels of national diversity within each school.
