local slang.

for the past to summers, i have gone away to summer programs with kids from all over the country and world. one of the things that struck me most was the different slang terms that people from everywhere use. i learned tons of words that otherwise would have simply confused me or meant nothing at all to me.

but now i know tons of words that are very specific to certain areas. but coming from the bay area..i have to say that we have the best words of anyone. no offense meant but check this out: http://www.riceplate.com/rap/rap.php.

anyways. the point of this is..what are some the words that you and your friends say that nobody outside of your city or area would say or probably not even understand?

the other thing that is interesting is how a word in one place could mean one thing and in another place is something totally different. for instance..dank here means weed or good..and apparently means bad or gross in la-area.

so yeah. long post but its soo interesting to me.
