Lockdown During AP Test

Yesterday our school had our AP US History test and about 5 minutes into the DBQ/FRQ, there was an announcement that we were going into full lockdown, which lasted more than an hour and a half. Even though we finished our multiple choice section, they had to cancel all our scores and do not know what will happen next.

The school should fill out an incident report. You will probably take the alternate exam in two weeks.

oh yeah they had to immediately, but will that mean we'll have to completely redo our multiple choice and such too? sucks for those kids that already had a bulk of their dbq done...

Yes, you have to completely redo the test because you can't have the MC from one test combined with the FRQ of the other. Basically, its just fairness and conformity.

Why did you have a lockdown anyway?

gahh that sucks so badly, i thought the MC section/essays were so incredibly easy...damnit

the lockdown was for a huge drug search = dogs searching in classrooms/lockers/halls/cars, etc. Lovely how they chose to do it during the test eh?

Wow...doesn't the administration coordinate the drug searches with the cops? They should have planned that better or done it when there wasn't a test...

That sucks dude...

well the school claimed they had no idea, which is kinda doubtful

definitely sucks, we had some girls cry because they were so stressed from the whole thing since they didnt tell us why there was a lockdown and we had to literally be hidden under desks with posters over windows, so everyone was so freaked

We had lockdowns for the past two days too. A bunch of schools in New Jersey had lockdowns around here. 5 in total. Geez this AP testing week is all about lockdowns. Creepy.

Screw the police, get rid of freaking drug laws.

ahha pretty much.

its too bad too because after AP test, our class becomes 'watch movies/do fun debates/ class' and now we will have to continue to study for two weeks :/

Whoa, that sucks so much. I hope you guys have a great senior prank planned to make up for this.

That sucks! Good luck with the make-up test... At least this way you have more time to study, and you can cover anything you think you didn't know well enough.

We got to listen to a movie about Africa at the loudest volume imaginable for 20 minutes during our AP Euro MC, but that's nowhere near as bad as this.

Aww, that really sucks.

My school basically does everything to protect its AP students. Apparently once we had a fire drill during the exam but they kept the students inside to avoid the voiding of tests, even though it really upset the fire department.

wow, that really sucks. Last year there was a big hooha because someone burned popcorn during our AP Euro exam, and we had to vacate the building for 15 minutes for the false fire drill. But we had already finished the MC and were barely into the DBQ so Collegeboard gave us the okay (thank God). But an hour and a half lockdown? I think I would have freaked....good luck to you guys with the makeup!

Whoever planned a drug inspection during an AP test should be fired.

we were in a completely different building too...hmm i guess shows how much our school cares, or at least kinda let us know considering stress from ap + stress from a serious lockdown = slight chaos

Look on the bright side, you will have more time to study!

We get lucky. For our school, we actually take the test in a whole different campus, which is completly empty except for Ap students at the time of the tests.

oh wow that is lucky...my dad (also a hs principal) called our prinicipal & superintendent and it was planned/known about by the school

hmm

That sucks. You should complain to the principal. Really, you should. That's not fair to you and those taking the test.
