Are the large bicycle cages at Dorms locked at night?

If so, is there any advantage to locking your bicycle in one of the 4 official bicycle storage units in the parking garages, for example, the one under the student union, which are locked and require a code to gain entrance, vs locking your bicycle in the cages at the dorms?

Thank you.

Bike theft is pretty rampant on campus, so you should lock up your bike in the most secure way possible.

I remember reading (I think the Bear Necessities handbook) that Unit 3 has it’s own bicycle garage that requires a key for access. It only mentioned Unit 3 so I’m not sure about the other units. How secure and effective they are at actually preventing theft I cannot answer. I’ll see if I can maybe get some information about it at CalSO.
