My roommate and I are lofting next year to save space in our room. She's already gotten a loft bed and I'm looking for one now. I'm trying to find a used one to save money and I've found a few. My college provides the mattresses and they're Twin XL, however, most of the lofts I see are fullsize or twin (I even looked at IKEA). Will a twin size loft work with a XL Twin sized mattress?

omg, i envy so MANY schools… my school prohibits loft beds. >.<!!

Can the default bed in your room not be lofted? At my school, I just ask the custodian to loft my bed for me and they are happy to help.

The difference is 5 inches. Your bed is 75 inches long and the mattress is 80 inches long. Depends on whether the bed can accomodate that extra length. (For example, if it has ‘barriers’ around the length of the board, it may be a bit uncomfortable?)
