To all of you in residence halls with lofted beds (with the desk underneath)...

Where, exactly, do you put your alarm clock, reading materials, etc.??? We will be required to keep our beds lofted, and I'm clueless as to where you put "nightstand things." I'm an early riser...do I really have to quickly climb down to turn off my alarm clock "down below" so as not to wake my roommate?

I had a bed pocket thing from Linens & Things or Bed, Bath, and Beyond (don't remember). You stick part of it under the mattress, and the pockets hang over the edge of the bed. Can fit glasses, alarm clock, book, etc. Also had a clip-on light. Worked very well.

I positioned by bed and wardrobe (closet?) near each other. I set my clock radio, phone charger, etc., on top of the wardrobe. It was at even height with the bed and worked out perfect.

I plan to do the same thing this summer when I live in a building with a lofted bed again.

Bought those stackable drawers/crate (yaffo blocks) from BB&B.. you can buy as many to stack as high as the bed so you can have a nightstand for your alarm and reading light.
