are we allowed to loft are beds at emory this yr?
is it true you can arrange for them to do it for you before you get there?
Are there peeps the to help you during move in?
any other adivce or tidbits about move in that we should know?

go emory c/o 2010!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I don't know anything about the loft policy, but in answer to your other questions:
There will be both Emory students to show you where to go and staff to help you cart your belongings up the stairs (if applicable). If you order a Microfridge, it will already be in your room so you won't have to worry about it.
Other tidbits: It will be HOT outside and you'll probably break a sweat lugging all your stuff around. Dress for the weather (stuff you can sweat in), and dress to impress later (like once you've got everything inside in the air-conditioning). If I remember correctly, move-in is from about 8 to 3. I showed up closer to 8 and my roomie came at 3:30 and we both spent no more than 5 minutes waiting for a parking spot in the loading zone and in line to get our keys. It's very well-run. One other tip: bring Kleenex for your mother. :-)

Yes, you can loft. There are companies that you can pay on campus to put it up for you.

How do freshmen order a microfridge? Did son miss that in the packet, or hasn't it been sent to him yet?

Companies on campus to loft the beds? Do the freshmen just make that contact after they've gotten to campus?

The microfridge info should be in one of the orientation packets. You can also get the company's name once you get to Atlanta during orientation. There's usually a display table during move-in at the DUC for lofting/futons. There will also be information in the orientation packet at move in.

Thanks for the info, dgebll.

i read something on learnlink about lofting. they said that alot of the lofting materials will go to dobbs hall first because it has the smallest rooms. although, you dont actually need anything special to bunk the beds.

what exactly is lofting?

Loftined beds is the process by one which raises his or her bed, often to make space for storage below the bed.
