Logan to Tufts... avoid the Big Dig!

Suggestions on how to get to campus safe and sound, avoiding the Big Mess (I mean, Dig)?

I am new to Boston and would like something fairly simple, please.

blue line, switch to green at gvt center, go one stop west, red line north towards alewife and get off at davis

or silver line, switch at south station and north towards alewife, off at davis.

if you're carrying stuff, and don't want to navigate the subway (although the silver line is maily for the airport and probably very aminable to luggage and the red line is a straight shot on a train that's usually empty enough for luggage not to get in the way) or the ten-minute walk to campus, i'd say get a taxi. nothing's gonna fall on you.

how much will you have with you?

New student! Will be moving in and will have too much for the subway. We are renting a car so we need to drive! ugh!

The T, like Gleech said is an easy cheap way to go if you don't have a lot of stuff to transport.
