I'm trying to find some information on what Logistics Engineers do. I haven't had much luck on Google; all I find is a bunch of broad descriptions. Does anyone have any insight on what they do specifically?

It’s sort of a subcategory of industrial engineering, look that up instead. It’s pretty much just advanced and complicated logistics. For example, they work for airlines and shipping companies to coordinate how things move around the world.

Look up System engineering too. I’m taking an intro systems class and it delves into Logisitics. We’ve looked at UPS routes and stuff, and my prof seems to have done some cool stuff when he worked in industry. He worked at a chemical refinary and was giving information regarding costs, time, chemicals etc, and his job was to make the plant as efficent as possible. He also worked in the scheduling of sporting events (like the NBA) to maximize profit and minimize travel.

Since we’re just listing names now, look up Operations Research.
