<p>Has anyone heard of this? They mentioned it at the Apple Store when we were purchasing dd's macbookpro.</p>
<p>I have it. what it does is it protects against theft. If your laptop is stolen, all of your info is backed up and deleted. Authorites then track the laptop… and you get your data back. it does this through constatly connnecting to networks and such…</p>
<p>I feel like laptop locks are not necessities here though. I have a laptop but no lock and I often step out of my room (without locking my door, or even with the door opened) and everything is always fine. (But this may just be because I live at Next, which is super far from everything) I also see people leaving their laptops in lounges for short periods of times and it’s pretty safe. Generally, people respect each other’s stuff. However, you can always bring it as a precaution.</p>
