lol Another Chance Thread

Hi. I'm a senior in highschool with 3.85 gpa. I'm in the top 12% of a very competitive public highschool. On my sat I got 690 math, 630 on both english parts. On the ACT I got a 30.

My EC's suck. 9-12 Youth Group. 11-12 Ambulance Corps (I think that looks very good). 9th Lacrosse (Was first string, I quit because I'm lazy. I know I'm an idiot). Might get into NHS this year.

Last Summer worked 40 hours a week at a landscaping company. This year I work at EmbroidMe 10-15 hours a week.

This year I'm taking:
AP Calc
AP physics
Java Honors
Participation In Gov / Economics
Journalism / Writers workshop

Want to major in Engineering (mech or civil)

Do I have a chance? I hate it because on paper I look like a kid who does nothing... When actually I have a life and still get good grade! I screwed up...

Other colleges: Boston University, Villanova, Manhattan, Hofstra

Yes, you have a chance, and you should apply. Your other college choices for engineering look a bit odd....Hofstra, BU, Manhattan? For privates in the northeast, why not consider Bucknell, Lafayette, RPI, Stevens, perhaps Drexel as a safety. For publics, Penn State, Maryland.

Why do you say that? Are they not good engineering schools? I was looking at lafayatte and will look at the others.

Good engineering schools - Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Lafayette, Drexel, Penn State, RIT, Clarkson, U of Rochester...
