lol sorry for another chances thread by i couldnt help myself anyways i am planning of applying to yale early

i think those A-'s are gonna screw you over

Chances = good, as long as you write some good essays.

Look at my chances post a few posts down...

I think we're really similarly qualified, if you replace your sports and MUN with my science extracurriculars and latin stuff.

Well, except you're a black female and i'm a white male, but it sounds like we both come from upper middle class backgrounds.

I think we're both pretty much average yale applicants. We have good grades, high class rank, 23 something SATs, good activities but not quite earth shattering. Good luck with the URM card, maybe that will help you out.

It's kind of intimidating though, we've both worked pretty hard through high school, and we're still kind of average as far as Yale applicants go. I think we have as much a chance as anyone else, but we're not exactly automatic admits.

BTW, i'm definitely going to EA Yale too... so, hope we both get lucky!

Also, both of you guys are from overrepresented states which is going to hurt. However, you'd be surprised at how many yalies are "average" and have done nothing amazing. Recs and essays play a huge factor in the admissions process - more than most people think.

Hey, what are you XC times (5k right) Cause it sounds like a XC team going to states in the huge-o CA is really good...

Also agreed w/ techy

my x-country times are in the like mid/high ninteens for a good course my high school is really small so we are in division 4 (around 400 kids) which isnt as competitive as say Division 1 (where schools have like 6,000 kids) but yeah i really wish we could be in Division 5, where we could win state, but they consider our school as having 1000 kids because it is all-girls so they double the numbers

the best two girls on my team run like mid/high eighteens and i am usually like the 3rd-5th place runner (it varries because the 3rd, 4th,5th, and even 6th runner on my team are pretty much of equal ability)

so whats ur stats then?

i put them in the post that was directly before the one where i was talking about the best two girls on my teamm...

but anyways to say it again like mid/high ninteens for a good course

ahhh didnt see em

well i would say you would have a decent shot...but then again Yale is quite a hard school to get in...so just write good essays :)
