<p>Congrats to you and your daughter. My son was a nominee to be a Lombardi Scholar as well. We are in Central Florida. Where are you?</p>
<p>Thank you and you too! We are in South Florida. We aren’t expecting much because of the competition, but I expected to see a little more talk about it here I guess. Do you happen to know when they let the kids selected for round 2 know? I think I read about a week before the telephone interview, but I can’t find that information now.</p>
<p>Kimp70, I copied the email received about a week ago:</p>
<p>The University of Florida Honors Program has received your application for the 2014 Lombardi and Stamps Scholar competition. I am pleased that you are interested in UF, and commend you for the industriousness and motivation you have already displayed in seeking nomination for this award.</p>
<p>The Faculty Selection Committee has begun application review, and will select 45-50 students for telephone interviews to be held in the evening the week of March 10. Students selected for these interviews will be contacted the week prior to determine availability. On-campus interviews will take place Saturday March 29 for 18 finalists – in order to be selected as a Lombardi or Stamps Scholar, you MUST be available on this date. Interviews will be held on the UF campus from 11am until 6pm that Saturday.</p>
<p>Scholars and Alternates will be notified on or before April 1, and the 2014 class of Lombardi and Stamps Scholars will be publicly announced no later than May 2.</p>
<p>The Office of Admissions will release admission decisions Friday, February 14. If you are admitted, you are strongly encouraged to apply to the UF Honors Program – that application will be available at <a href=“http://www.honors.ufl.edu/Application.aspx”>http://www.honors.ufl.edu/Application.aspx</a> after noon on Monday, February 17.

<p>My daughter was notified that she is a finalist, interviewing at UF on Saturday the 29th, looks like a 6 1/2 hour interview? I’m really nervous for her! </p>
