London vs. Sydney

Hey guys. I'm currently debating whether to apply to study in either London or Sydney, Australia next spring. Both programs are great at my school and the costs are relatively the same. I also attend a city school so I am fairly adaptable to city situations.

Pros of London:
-Easier traveling to get there/back
-Can visit lots of different countries--I've always wanted to see more of Europe
-I will know people in the program

Cons
-Most likely terrible weather
-The people I know in the program aren't as close to me anymore, afraid I will miss out if I don't step out on my own--but don't want to rule out London because of this

Pros of Sydney:
-It will be summer there
-Break out of my comfort zone
-Crazy things like sky diving, petting kangaroos, etc.

Cons:
-Will know no one in the program
-Not a lot of travel opportunities
-Nervous that I'm not adventurous enough

Has anyone studied abroad in either of these countries or can offer any advice?

Hey,

I live and study in Sydney (I was born here) so here are some things to consider:

Cost of living is pretty high here (higher than London), but it shouldn’t be too difficult to find a casual job.

Lots of international students, most uni’s are very multicultural.

It’s a big city, plenty of nightlife.

If you want to go skydiving, go down to Wollongong (only an hours drive South), if you don’t have a car there is a train. I did it last year - absolutely amazing.

We have some pretty good uni’s

You say you are not adventurous enough? You don’t need to be adventurous to come here. Stay in shared accommodation through your uni, and join a few clubs, be social and you wont have any issues.

Feel free to ask anything. I like it here, I know people that have studied here just to live in Australia.

Take care.

Sydney hands down. I have lived 2 years in sydney and this is my 4 years in London.

Sydney is much more chilled and relaxed and even though it is London, i find the atmosphere in sydney much warmer and friendlier and i feel like there is more things to do even in sydney!

If you are interested in european art/architecture than i would say choose London but for me its sydney everytime
