She’s, ahem, not the most coordinated kid. I think she’d be wary of a scooter or e-bike.
If she picks an uber-etc plan, then there won’t be any headaches about parking. That may open up more options for housing.
Very proud of our son who figured out how to do summer internship in Boston suburbs, when renting a sublet in the city with friends. Most of the summer was carpooling with another student who interned at different location in that area. But a few of the weeks were a grueling bike/commuter rail/bike route. At the time I just didn’t appreciate how much determination (and good fortune) came into play.
No way would I rent a car for that long. You’re also talking about pricey gas. I’d use public transportation, maybe buy a bike or scooter, use Uber or occasionally rent a car for longer distances. Public transportation is pretty good in that area. Much less of a hassle.
