Hi I just recently transferred over. I do know that they keep spaces open for incoming transfers as well as new freshmen. But the existing waitlists for certain classes are scaring me. Lets say for example that the waitlists will stay the same. One of the courses I need to get into has two different lecture times; but each discussion has a waitlist of 18+. Another class I also need to get into has many discussion choices, but each has a waitlist of 9+. Do I have a chance in getting into these courses? The advisers don't recommend being on a waitlist, is it that difficult?

Apparently 10% of a class usually drops, thereby accommodating the waitlist accordingly.

Depends on the classes…we need more info.

Ah, thanks for the replies…that thread had to deal with Ochem and chem lab…both of which I got into lol. Well, I wanted Oconnor, but feared being 12+ on the waitlist. So instead I settled on Hoeger. Apparently Johnson (I’ve been in her lab- shes a great prof) has the same teaching style as Hoeger, some say she adapted his teaching style and made it into her own. Anyways, if that’s the case, I liked Prof Johnson so hopefully I’ll like how Hoeger teaches as well. But from what I hear about Hoeger’s grading…if all those rumors are true…I wish he graded like Johnson! But all in all Ochem is Ochem. I’m willing to work hard and I have heard Hoeger is one of the great profs to lay a great foundation. Wish everyone luck in Ochem this quarter!!! :)
