Long way off, but what are my chances in a few years?

Hello,
I am currently a freshman at an extremely competitive Catholic high school in Cleveland. (Being out of state will hurt me I know.)
I know it is very early for me to be posting, but the last couple weeks I have caught myself daydreaming about the subject of "college". Any thought thoughts on my chances if I keep these stats where they are for four years will be greatly appreciated.

Stats:
Gpa: 3.8 (uw) 3.76 (w)-
Not enrolled in any honors classes freshman year.

Tentative sophmore year class schedule.
Honors Geometry
Honors English II
AP US History
Honors Latin II
Sophmore Service-Go to a neighborhood elementary school and tutor students. (my school is in a very poor section of Cleveland
Health II-no class possible in this subject
Theology-no honors class possible in this subject
Biology-no honors class possible in subject

Scores:
History of being an average standardized test taker. Will improve those skills over four years. Hoping for at least a 30 on ACT.

EC's:
will have be 2 year letter in basketball.
4 year letter in track
Student Senate-Freshman Class Representative
will be apart of Student Senate in at least some type of officer role for the next 3 years
4 years of Labre Ministry-go into Cleveland every Sunday night and feed the homeless.
4 years of Christian Action Team-Club that organizes events relating to the Corporal works of Mercy in our neighborhood and high school community.
2 years of Pallbearers Society-carry the caskets of those who have no family members living to carry it
4 years of Latin Club
4 years of Ignatian forLife-meet weekly and discuss pro life.

will hopefully have some type of AT LEAST an officer position in all of these clubs

Essays:Have a few good ideas for topic

So any comments on my chances if I keep these stats and EC's where they are for a few years would be greatly appreciated.

1) Out of State doesn’t hurt you that much.
2) How is your W lower than your UW?
3) Everything else looks good! Do well on your SATs and your in!

because A- is worth 3.7 A is worth 4.0 A+ is worth 4.3 same for other letter grades

just keep your GPA above a 3.6 or a 3.7 and do well on your SAT’s and you should be fine
and no, out of state won’t hurt you

Compliments to you on the maturity to be thinking ahead and doing some planning in your freshman year. Unfortunately, a lot of kids don’t even start thinking about it until it’s too late. I’m not sure how high up on your list Penn State UP is, but the GPA is an extremely important figure, so you will need to keep that high. After GPA, comes the SAT or ACT #. I highly recommend taking some kind of prep course if you can, to prepare for those. That can usually boost your scores some and provide good tips for taking the test.
You’ve got some really wonderful EC’s, and even if they don’t carry the same weight as they do in some smaller school admissions process, they are a great insight into what’s important to you as a person. By the way, PSU has a fantastic Catholic Campus Ministry–great priests, activities, etc. I think PSU admission is more a “game of numbers” because they can’t take the time to comb thru every detail of the app. Even the essay is really, really short. Also they don’t even consider recommendations, so that gives you an idea of what they are looking at in their decision making process.
Good luck…keep working hard and I’m sure you will find success no matter where you decide to go!

Chances at this stage is too early imo…
You could change your mind about Penn State in a year…why not just enjoy life before getting into the hectic college app process.

^Ditto. Go out and get laid man.

I agree with CH121S and with lil_killer129 to a degree. Go out and enjoy yourself/get laid, but keep your grades up while getting laid. Ha.

i agree with jec lilkiller and CH b.c i can

iggycats: I agree with Juice, jec and lil_kill that you should enjoy your high school years because they go by very quickly, but as a mother of a teenage boy, I can’t go along with the advice about getting laid
