Longhorns help me chose a dorm.

I am an incoming Freshman for Electrical Engineering. I would like to know what the best dorms are for an engineering student. I want a place which is close to the engineering quarters and that is mostly quiet. I have applied to the honors program and hence the honors dorms. My question is: Which is the best dorm for an engineering student (My dorm preference is SINGLE with PRIVATE BATHROOM)?

I can live with Community Bathroom

The honors dorms are really close to the engineering building, as is Creekside. I don’t think any of the honors dorms have private baths though. You shouldn’t go for a single room either.

If you’re in Engineering, then Kinsolving (if you’re a girl), Honors dorms, Whitis & Duren are good choices. If you can afford it, Durent has a single and private bath since it’s one of the newest dorms.

What’s wrong with single rooms, bacdgk? I was thinking of applying for one for next year.

As for AlexVen - the honors dorms seem like your best bet, location-wise. But if you’re looking for a private bathroom, go with Duren, which is on the same side of campus. It’s known for being quiet.

Duren is a tad bit expensive. I might be able to get some money through some scholarships. Immigrants from South America get a lot of money through scholarships when going to college.

I am a guy so no Kingsolving.

I need a dorm where I can get up in the morning and get me a nice hot breakfast with some tea. Something quiet but with a very good community. I heard Jester is horrible in that case.

It says I have to give 5 choices, so far I have: Honors, FIGS- Whitis and Duren.
