which selective colleges look overall on the person rather than his gpa
like i believe dartmouth looks a little more into the person than his gpa
im not saying ivies dont look at the gpa or anything
im just saying which colleges lean a little bit into the person
ex: when college get so many apps they dont look at the high grades but look at their uniqueness
thank you!

Grades are important. At any top school (the Ivies, MIT, Caltech, Stanford, etc.), your grades are important. "Personality" (ECs, etc.) is important, too. You may have the greatest personality ever, and your ECs might make you seem like a really cool person, but if you get all Cs and Ds, and you probably won't be getting in to any of these schools.

I should add that "personality" IS important, however. There is no formula for getting in to any of these schools. They look at grades, test scores (SAT/ACT), extra-curriculars, and essays. All of these things are important. To get in to (for example) Dartmouth, you need to have great grades, high test scores, impressive extra-curriculars, and strong essays.

Excellent personality is interesting
Excellent grades are more interesting
Excellent grades AND personality = who they admit
