What I actually need to be reviewed is the second question that asks about the books, movies, authors, etc. that interest you.

I liked my response until one of the people I know shed some doubts on it. Now I'm wondering if it's just too far from the Chicago vein to be acceptable. What I did was discuss some of the literature I enjoyed as a child (i'm talking classics, not Saddle Club books). Is that just not intellectual enough for Chicago? That was the criticism.
I just don't know anymore....

I'll PM my essay to whoever is willing to look it over =)

Lol wanna trade? If you think yours isn't intellectual wait until you read mine...

sure! I'm pm-ing it to you now

You could have chosen to do it on Winnie the Pooh and it could still be intellectual. Whether it is intellectual or not depends on what you say, not necessarily the topic.

I'll happily take a look at your essay if you PM it.

Mine wasn't even intellectual. It was more like a list of a few things I liked. I mean, I saw on the facebook applicants group and over there people were going on about Tchaikovsky and Plato and Homer and Tom, Dick and Harry from the 18th Century. And I'd written about Lynyrd Skynyrd, Michael Chricton and my national anthem. There is no norm. Just go with with what gives a picture of you so they can tell whether they like you or not, because nobody knows what your counselor is looking for, because nobody knows exactly what the rest of the applicant pool looks like or wrote in their essay.

What I'm getting at is, the question is about you and not how intellectual you think you can be. So you're OK.

I wanted to thank everyone who looked over my essay.
"Thank you!"
I found your comments really helpful.
Nobody else needs to offer to look it over though because I've sent in my ap!!
Now I just have to wait in nervous anticipation....
