Looking for a college that fits what I want!

Hi everyone!

I am a junior in high school and am starting my college search process. Though I began a few months ago I have yet to find a college that fits exactly what I am looking for.

I do plan to go to medical school, and I have always heard it is a good idea to go to a good college that is not extremely difficult or prestigious so you can get good grades and then get into a good medical school and prosper there.

I am looking for a college/university that has the following:

  • attainable for me to get into (I have a 3.95 Unweighted GPA, 1380 SAT, and 33 ACT, plenty of service work and extracurricular)
  • has a STRONG program in science majors but is not JUST focused on science (might want to double major in a foreign language?)
  • the academics are not extremely difficult (like Ivy League/Stanford/MIT THOSE types of schools)
  • preferably in or near a city

Basically I want to go to a GOOD school, that is known to be good, but not extremely difficult or selective, that has a strong scientific program but is not just focused on that.

Does anyone have ideas of colleges/universities that might fit this profile? Thanks!

Have you talked to your parents about what they will contribute for your college costs?

If they will contribute something, but you choose an under-budget college, will the unused amount be available for medical school costs (including both application costs and cost of attending medical school)?

State of residency?
