Hi,
I am currently in grade 10, and I am looking for a summer program that is preferably competitive ( so I get practice for applying to college), and is preferably intense. I am open to anything that is competitive, but my favorite subjects are: history, politics, law, economics, foreign policy, political science.
I should add that I am preferably wanting something with a scholarship, not those programs the ivies do to make money( I realize that that might be a controversial statement, if I have offended anybody, I apologize in advance, if you found one of those programs and they work for you, that is cool, it is just that I, personally, am looking for something else.)
Try mysummeradvisor.com and look at the choices in the Academic Programs section. There aren’t as many choices in the fields you mentioned. Most of the competitive programs are in STEM subjects. The exception being the Telluride Association programs. There are some interesting programs in American history that include archaeology. There is also a free program in experimental economics. I forget where, but you should be able to find it through mysummeradvisor.
Thanks for the advice @bellofamherst ! Yeah, I saw the tellrudie program, but it seemed that it is meant for African americans, is it open for everyone, and does everyone have a realistic chance regardless of ethnic background ?
