She claims Wes had a great variety of students where she felt Vassar was all one so called type....white kids in hippie clothing with designer sunglasses. I could kind of see her point. I felt the students at Wes were much more open to conversation. Something at Vassar just didn't feel right to us every time we went. At one point I did think my older daughter was going to choose it but after her overnight she was done.

So, she sounds like a sophisticated girl who really likes diversity. The city schools (which Wes shares a certain ambiance with) might be her ticket.

NYU
Fordham
Emerson
Purchase
Sarah Lawrence
American
Stony Brook
Brandeis
Skidmore
Wheaton

might all be safety options. Her reach and match lists would look very different. And she probably won't attend the safety, but since she might, here's an expanded list from me now that I understand her a bit better.

Many schools seem like they'd be too conservative: Dickinson, Conn College, etc.

It's interesting you mention Dickinson and Conn. College. She liked Dickinson very much and Franklin and Marshall as well but I was kind of concerned about the sports aspect which she is not into other than frisbee or bike riding. She does want a Campus feel and lots of diversity but also not a female only school. We are planniong to visit Conn. College and possibly Brandeis. My older D lasted 5 minutes at Purchase and was ready to go. The info sesssion stressed no stress no need for SAT's or good grades......a real turn off to a student who works hard and wants to be with driven students.

I second the suggestion of Fordham!

Dartmouth and Princeton seem to fit the bill. Also maybe Brown and Georgetown.

University of Chicago?

For OP check out Bucknell University.
