Looking for a more unique summer experience.

I just found CC through a search for summer program information. It looks like a nice resource and so I thought I'd post a question. I'm looking for an academic program that is worthwhile and interesting but not as selective as TASP or NIH's internships. My state doesn't have any Governor's Schools and I'm not interested in the summer programs at the Flagship. I was wondering if anyone has heard of or can shed some light on the selectivity and quality of the below programs or make any suggestions for a minority interested in a Math, Science, or Engineering program.

Carnegie Melon's SAMS program: A precollege summer program aimed at minorities interested in engineering, mathematics, technology and science,
HCSiM: Hampshire College's math summer program. I've heard a lot about it. Does anyone know about what percent is admitted?
Virginia Tech's C2
Thanks.

i went to SAMS this summer and it was AWESOME!!! it was sooo worth it. for rising juniors we took concept. math, physics, SAT prep and 2 engineering courses in three week intervals. also they have a pre-college program for diversity and the yhave a game school or you can take AP/EA classes. but def try SAMS, you wont regret it.
