Looking for a quick response - sending recommendations

Hello,

I have not sent my teacher recommendations yet, despite the fact that I've had them since October. My main question: Does Yale prefer them sent via postal mail or sent via Common App electronically?

Please let me know ASAP. Thanks.

I don't know about what they prefer but it's probably safer electronically...

Did you sign a statement waiving the right to see your recommendations? If so, your teachers, not you, should be sending them. You should give each of your teachers a stamped envelope addressed to Yale Admissions and ask them to send the recommendations directly.

Or invite them on common app to send electronically

For some reason, my mom thought that Stanford and Yale wanted the recs mailed, not electronically sent. I understand where she was coming from with Stanford - they have mailing labels which are kind of misleading and made her think that meant they wanted recs mailed - but I'm not sure what the heck she's talking about with Yale.

My teachers have already uploaded their recs for me onto the Common App, and I've already checked the box or whatever on their names. Which makes me believe that Yale already has my recs anyway. Because of my mom's paranoia, I have two sealed and stamped envelopes with my recs addressed to Stanford and Yale. The admissions offices wouldn't know I sent them anyway. One of them is even signed on the seal by my teacher, ha.

I'm pretty sure I'm fine with electronic submission, right?

yes. If they have already submitted them per email, DONT send them. it will only confuse the college

They do NOt want you to mail them if it's been elcetronically sent. The main thing is that however you sent your app, they want the recommendations sent the same way. Either all electronic or all paper.

That's what I thought. Thanks everyone!
