Looking for a Safety School

I'm having trouble finding a good safety school that fits my criteria. Any and all suggestions are appreciated!

GPA: 3.8
SAT: 2230
ACT: 33
SAT II: Spanish (800), Literature (800)
APs: English Literature (5), Spanish (5) - my school does not offer AP classes
ECs:
Model UN (Co-Secretary General, three years)
A-cappella (Co-founder and leader, three years)
Varsity Field Hockey (three years)
Varsity Softball (three years)
Musical theater (two years)
Chorus (four years)

Summer Activities:
Four weeks of service in Nicaragua (tutoring underprivileged kids, host family immersion)
One session at conflict resolution camp Seeds of Peace (competitive application)
Summer internship at a children's books internet start-up
Extra Information: I spent my entire junior year abroad in Zaragoza, Spain. This prevented four year commitments to my extra-curriculars, but I am now fluent in Spanish and have had a unique experience that included travel and living with a host family.

State: Washington DC
School Type: Private competitive
Gender/Race: Female/White

I prefer an urban mid-size university with a focus on the social sciences and international relations. I have no preference on East/West/Midwest, but I would like a larger city. My first choice schools include Columbia, Harvard, Northwestern, and Tufts. I would appreciate any advice or suggestions that you may have. Thanks!

University of Rochester, Marquette University, Southern Methodist, Wake Forest, U of Denver, Syracuse, Loyola Chicago, Butler - just a few to look into.

Safety schools must be affordable, and they often don’t give much need-based aid. Have your parents said how much they’ll pay?

You might qualify for a large scholarship to USC (Cal) especially if you are a national merit scholarship.

If Columbia is one of your top choices, you should look at Barnard. Not exactly a safety, but you would have good odds of admission there.

Holy Cross, Richmond.

Price is not an issue for them, so I won’t be applying for aid.

University of Washington
Fordham

You may also want to look into Emory University, but it’s not a safety.

William and Mary, UVA (maybe more of match schools) Davidson, American

Consider Pitt.

u of Pittsburgh
butler university

There are two types of safeties - those that tell you early, when you still have time to make a correction, and those that tell you late, when you don’t.

Early Safeties:
Boston College EA - if you get in, it’s a safety
Northeastern
University of Wisconsin-Madison
University of Pittsburgh
Ohio State

Later safeties - you will surely get in, but will have to wait
McGill
University of Toronto
Boston University
NYU
University of Maryland (some decisions come out early)
