I am 2nd year college student attending a Penn State Branch Campus.

Im interested in a future career in investment banking/banking/finance.

I got accepted into Penn State's University Park Campus for Management but I really need to major in Finance. However, I dont have the required 3.5 GPA.

I have started applying to other schools. What should i do?

Should I Go to PSU Main Campus and double major in Management & Economics.

or transfer to one of these following schools and major specifically in Finance?

UPitt ( awaiting Spring transcript for decision )
St. John's University (NY)
Drexel
Cornell (pending acceptance)
Rutgers New Brunswick

Feel free to leave any feedback. Thanks

There is always the option of a finance masters degree. Most of the schools you listed are private. If you can save money by staying at PSU and getting a masters in Finance somewhere, I think you will be better off. Especially an Econ major can be valuable - you don’t have to be a finance major to go into investment banking - just foster the right connections.

Thank you so much for the feedback. well appreciated.

If anyone else has any input please leave a comment.

You seem not to want to continue at PSU - of the schools you mention, none are particularly known for finance. I don’t believe Cornell even has the major, though as a whole, it is the most highly regarded in your list since it’s an ivy. After that I would choose Pitt or St Johns (only because you might have internship opportunities in NYC).
I also agree with web2094: an undergrad business degree<liberal arts degree +MBA

Bump. Still open to more opinions.
