Hey guys, thank you so much for all the help. I’m bumping this thread again now that the transfer deadlines are getting closer and I’ve got to start preparing. I’m planning on applying to at least three schools, U of Rochester, Wesleyan, and UConn. I want to major in philosophy and either cognitive science or neuroscience. I feel like all three schools are a reach for me. I’m wondering what I can do aside from scheduling an interview that will help my chances. My current stats:

3.7, 62 credits (42 GPA hours), Honors program
1490 out of 1600 SATs
700 writing, 680 Math II
Roughly 2.9 unweighted high school GPA at a Founders League boarding school in Connecticut.
Some work experience but no real outstanding extracurriculars.

I’ve had a long and messy college career that I’m not sure how people will react to. Hopefully I can sell it as positive and interesting if the various admissions can get past how much of a disaster it was in the first few years. I’m not sure how much my GPA is worth considering my school (CCSU) isn’t particularly difficult and I haven’t taken many difficult classes. No one at my school does transfer advising either thus I’ve absolutely no idea what kind of schools I should be looking at. I prefer Wesleyan since I live in the same town although it is very selective. I would like to go somewhere that will give me a shot at a decent grad school, other than that I have no preference. Any advice and guidance is greatly appreciated. Once again, thank you.
