My 7th grade son who is advanced in math wants to complete Honors Geometry and Algebra 2 Honors before high school our only options are online choices this summer and next school year. My daughter took FLVS Honors Geometry but it was average and not an in-depth course. I wanted to use John Hopkins CTY but our public high school will surprisingly not accept this for credit due to the fact that the program doesn’t assign an official credit to its classes. I’ve missed the boat on Stanford OHS. Does anyone know the quality of Laurel Springs for these two classes? Would not want to pay significantly more for it if very similar to FLVS. I welcome any other online programs that people may know about.
It would be very hard to do better than the Art of Problem Solving.
unfortunately they don’t have an honors geometry class. Theirs is called intro to geometry so wouldn’t be weighted for gpa. Funny how the best online classes like CTY Hopkins and AoPS not recognized for hs credit at our public high school
I think all of AoPS courses are honors. Our state does not typically recognize AoPS but we were able to get credit for several courses although it did not count towards his GPA. We were more interested in ensuring he got a very strong foundation which AoPS is known to provide.
