Hey everyone i've recently started looking for colleges that intrest me. I've found a few but not quite sure.

I'm looking for a christian college. I'm nondenominational so i am a christian but i don't want a college that is all about the religouse aspect more then just being in love with Jesus.

I am interested in majoring in social work or some kind of human services.
I haven't taken sat or act tests yet and i'm just looking for info on really good Christian schools. I live in PA but the school wouldn't have to be in PA.

If you agree with the authors’ philosophy, they both are professors at Covenant College in GA - right outside of Chattanooga, TN. My son is there now as a Freshman majoring in Community Development and really enjoys it. You can choose a domestic or international track. We’re also from PA, so it’s a bit of a drive, but a fair number of PA residents go there.

The college itself is PCA, but we’re not, and my son feels fine there. He’s not alone coming in from outside the denomination either.

If you want closer to home, Eastern has an Economic Development major that is similar. Covenant is the higher academic school of the two as per freshman stats.

If you want further north and a similar major, consider Calvin College’s International Development. They probably have a domestic track too.

If you’re more into sociology, plenty more options come available. Geneva here in PA comes to mind.

Bethany University in Santa Cruz, CA. Fantastic place to live and go to school. Small, close community atmosphere in the great California Redwoods with the beach nearby. Professors who are not only accessible, but often become life-long mentors or confidants. Reasonable tuition.

Have you thought about Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, PA? [Baptist Bible College & Seminary - Excellence in Biblical Higher Education](http://www.bbc.edu)
They are some of the most caring people ever, if you’re looking for a place where you can really grow in your faith. I can’t say enough good things about bbc. The coursework is awesome. It is baptist, but they welcome students of all denominations.
One of my best friends goes to Lancaster Bible College and he loves it. It is nondenominational, I think, so it might be more in line with your theology. He is in youth pastoral studies and has worked at a church and been a camp leader in his first year alone.
Another friend is also going to Valley Forge Christian College in the fall and she also loves the campus and the coursework, from what she knows of it. The dorms are apparently lovely.
Can you tell us more about your needs, and maybe I can help some more?

There are some very good recommendations here. Covenant in TN …and you might also look @ Liberty if you’re going down that way. One I think is most intriguing is Belmont U. About 5K students, on a gorgeous campus (former estate of one of the wealthiest Southern families in late 1800s.) Has some professional schools … law, nursing, pharm, PT, OT, and some others …a Div I basketball team, unique programs in music, music/business (it’s a few blocks from Music Row, where all the studios are). Having been a Baptist school, it is now multi-denominational, has a spectacular speakers convocation series each semester, lots of “name” Christian presenters.

Also there are several places in Arkansas, southern MO … Ozarks, School of and U, I think.

Spring Arbor and Hope also in Michigan. Not a Christian school per se, but one I’d look hard @ … Hillsdale. Geneva has a great sociology/urban missiology focus. Eastern also mentioned. Tony Campolo’s put them on the map w/ urban soc stuff, altho I’m not sure he has much engagement anymore. Eastern Mennonite also a great place. Messiah’s getting a bit watered down, it seems from others’ reports, but a nice place w/ a strong Christian tradition.
