<p>musicmomz, I think the fact that she’s going into a non-academic major makes it more reasonable to accept someone with a relatively lower SAT score.</p>
<p>Her essays were awesome, her story is unique, her talent in photography is clear, and her grades were stellar despite losing her house in a fire. Her grades never dipped, which speaks volumes about her tenacity. </p>
<p>This should give hope to others who might not have the best test scores.</p>
<p>And one last update on my young friend. She got into USC today! She’ll be in the art/photography department. This was her dream school so we’ll hope finances work out.</p>
