Looking for colleges around NY

I'm looking for a business school around New York. Anyone know any decent colleges around there? I'm not gonna get into great schools (like Cornell, Columbia, NYU and etc) so forget those lol, just looking for something "decent".

stats:
- 3.2 uw gpa
- 1900-2000 sat (i'm most likely going to get that after retake)
- some ec (not a whole lot...or much at all, but i got some)

*also if possible, please list whether the school is match/reach/safety. Thanks

Any of the SUNYs? Any in the MAAC conference. Possibly Rochester?

CUNY Baruch, mostly dedicated to business. There's also Fordham and Pace. Some Long Island schools are Adelphi and Hofstra. If you're also considering upstate schools, SUNY Binghamton's School of Management is another solid option.

Fordham's College of Business Administration is on its main Rose Hill Campus....they live with and matriculate with Arts and Sciences kids, but have a different curriculum. Its an amazing school with TREMENDOUS internships and a very, very zealous alumni association in Manhattan.

Its top drawer. Its likely a match for you..but your GPA is a bit low. If it is weighted substantially higher that will help.

Good luck.

i was going to suggest Fordham.. great business school. and Pace which is less well known but has a good rep in the city and is great for finance. my brother choose Pace over Fordham as a transfer because he didnt want that campus cultrue and just wanted to be right in the middle of everything in the city, very much a city kid and wouldnt have been able to get into Stern (NYU).

i think Fordham would be a slight reach cause of your GPA. you should be able to get into Pace but i wouldnt call it a straight out safety.

I second Fordham although your GPA is a bit low.

Syracuse University can be a reach/high match, though can't say for sure since I don't know much about it.

ok thx guys...so far these are the schools people have mentioned
-SUNY
-Rochester
-Fordham
-Syracuse
-Pace
-Hofstra

Are all these good business schools? And also I've looked at the stats on them for the gpa/sats; my sat scores are good for almost all of the schools, but my gpa is a bit low for a few of them. So I guess these are pretty much my matches. Please list more if possible. And thx again everyone :)

Rochester doesn't have an undergrad business program. Its Simon School of Business is one of the best in the country, but it's graduate. Rochester does have a Certificate in Management for undergraduates.

Your GPA is low for Rochester; you would need to offset that with great SAT scores, which you don't have. Rochester has become more and more selective. I would classify it as a reach for you.

RIT
maybe one of the SUNYs if you are in state

i looked at Rochester and it is definitely a reach (if not a high reach). but is the school good for business?

Voodoo...what is your WEIGHTED GPA and class rank? A lot of schools will use those and not the UW if you have taken a lot of honors and AP courses.

my school doesn't have class ranks, but my weighted gpa is probably around .4 higher, so around 3.6

Okay...that improves it substantially. Getting over the 3.5 hump is important. That is a cutoff for a lot of selective schools. So go for it and dont be bashful. Good luck to you.

If you want NYC, CUNY Baruch is the best choice (other than NYU or Columbia).

^ yeah but isn't uw gpa > weighted gpa? my school doesn't weight gpa and when most people say their gpa, it is usually uw. but if what you say is true then i'm a bit more relieved

bumppppppppppp

does a 3.6 weighted gpa really help improve my chances over my measly 3.2 gpa

It helps. How much I dont know. Depends also on what classes you took and how hard they were and what grades you got.

^ mostly honors classes, with 1 ap
