Looking for Computer Science programs in schools with strong business background

I have posted a little about our next son in the past. He is a junior, somewhat quirky, talented computer guru, interested in computer science (specifically software engineering) but also business (econ/finance/etc). Great grades, GPA 3.9+ unweighted, December ACT 34 composite. Subject tests pending this spring, but suspect he can get 780+ on Math 2 and 750+ in physics. He initially was thinking about applying now and skipping his senior year, and he may put in a couple of apps, but the schools he initially was interested in require SAT2s. So, he may do a few virtual classes next year with a program his high school has, and then do a 20+ hour per week internship next year locally with a broad exposure to computer science. He would then apply next fall on schedule. His goal is to find a college computer science program with a track or emphasis in software engineering, and also get significant business related exposure, probably leading to an MBA in the future.

In looking at many programs online, one program that seems interesting is the U. Alabama Honors College, where he could enroll in the Computer Science major, tract in software engineering, and also enroll in the STEM-MBA program, leading to an MBA in one extra year. He would also receive the Presidential Scholarship, for full tuition for 4 years, and the STEM scholarship as well.

I also know Lehigh has a Computer Science and Business program, but

What other schools would people say he should look at for a great computer science/software engineering experience, that also would have a strong business component, possibly with an MBA program like Alabama?

Northeastern as a combined Business / CS major and very strong departments in both. It’s a very popular combined major. Northeastern is also a co-op school. Boston University is good for both as well.

This thread has a very similar situation and list of colleges: I would highly recommend looking at the schools listed there.

Not sure why he sees that much value in having a second major in business, or an MBA immediately after undergraduate, as opposed to taking selected economics and finance courses as electives alongside a CS major.

Just about any decent CS department should offer a software engineering course, a project course, and/or other courses with large projects.

Penn’s Management & Technology program is the best dual program, if he can get in. They admit 50 per year. Alternatively he could major in CS and still take classes in business at the University of Pennsylvania.

That M&T program would be perfect, but I agree next to impossible to get in.

Anyone have any direct experience with any STEM-MBA programs?
