gpa W 4.289
UW: 3.53
ACT:31
Resident of Illinois
Ive been told that my GPA is low for UIUC and Purdue and Wisconson.
I will still apply but was wondering what are some other good engineering school that have good computer engineering or CS programs. I was thinking Minnesota and Ohio State, reaches?

Its not low for Purdue. Your high ACT will compensate for the low GPA. You are sweating too much. I think you have a good chance at some of those colleges.
UIUC- high match or reach
Minnesota- Match
Purdue- Match
Wisconsin- high Match
Ohio State- match

What is your rank ? Are you in the top 20% ?

I think UW is a match overall. Higher ACT offsets slightly lower GPA. Go for it.

rank top 10%

Case Western?

Washington U in St. Louis
Illinois Institute of Technology
Ohio University
Iowa State University

Case Western

Given that your GPA puts you in the top 10%, I think all of the schools you list are reasonable choices, probably matches. Still, be sure to apply to some safeties as well. Missouri UST and Iowa State perhaps could be safeties.

Case Western is another good suggestion, as a reach, but a reasonable one.

Minnesota = match.

You need safeties. I don’t know much about the IL system but you can check out NDSU and SDSU in the Dakotas. Also, apply early to the rolling matches on your list and you may hear back before other deadlines.

Schools that want to overstate their selectivity always like to post their admitted rather than enrolled data.

That’s true. Personally, I always like to post admitted data as a reference for students trying to estimate their chances at being admitted ;)

IIT and Iowa State safeties? any others?

If you are willing to look south, your stats would get you some guaranteed merit aid at U of Alabama and U of Alabama-Huntsville.
