Looking for good FinAid Universities in Cali (Needs CompSci or CompEng Undergrad)

The last part of your sentence is incorrect. One needs a year of living in California, true, but one can take classes at a juco (and pay OOS fees), and after a year obtain residency for the purposes of instate tuition (at the same juco, or Cal State or UC).

Alright, excuse me for not understanding as quickly as you expected me to. I came here looking for answers and I’m happy that you were able to help me. I’m trying my hardest to learn all of these things beforehand so that I don’t walk in to the situation blindly come senior year.

The conclusion I’ve come to from your info is that the smartest and most financially friendly choice is to attend a juco for a year and then transfer. It sounds like a great idea and I will do more research on the subject. Do you have any recommendations for juco’s in California?

Yes, she’s going to continue to attend as an in-state student. She is dependent on my parents and is younger than 24 yrs old. Is there some sort of benefit of this to me?

I was just curious as to the logistics of one child attending school as a Washington resident while another attends school as a California resident.

Yea, it’s not very typical but my sister loves Seattle and UW and wants to finish her pre-med here instead of California.
