Hey guys, I'll be taking my first Sat in about 2 months and I'm currently looking for Sat resources, prep books, or general advice.

For Critical reading: I realized that vocab is pretty important in this portion of the test and I'll be getting the first volume of Direct Hits, although I'm not quite sure if the second edition is necessary to boost up my vocab.

I also have a hard time when it comes to the long passages that are included in this section. I usually end up with not enough time to fully analyze the passages and end up just really guessing what I feel like are the best answers. I'm guessing that if I boost up my vocab by quite a bit, I won't have to spend as much time answering the sentence completion ones and have more time to spend on the long passages.

For the Math section: I'm generally pretty good at math but the problem is that I just need a full review on the math subjects that will show up in this portion (like Geometry, Probability, Data Analysis) since I'm taking Pre-cal for my math class right now and it has been 2-3 years since I have taken Algebra and Geometry classes.

I hear that Gruber's is a really good prep book and I have also heard good things about math prep books by Dr.Chung.

For the Writing section: another section that I struggle quite a bit on but it's probably because I just need some more practice on it. I read some good things about a prep book made specifically for grammar and the writing section by Erica Meltzer.

It would also be awesome if you guys have any other general advice or tips for getting a really good score on the Sat because it's part of the application process for a program that I'm trying to get in. I need a score above 2000 in order to be competitive with other applicants. Thank you very much!
