I'm from the eastcoast (ct) and moved the day before freshman year started to southern california. I would like to go to school in new england :)

*I really really like the Vagelos LSM program @ UPenn
*Really like dartmouth

I know these are both reaches, but are they outrageous if I apply early?

What are good matches and safeties (in east coast and CA)

Oh, and I'm a Jewish male.

BTW
my fresh GPA 3.6 (didnt have any weighted classes)
Soph 4.2 (w)
junior 4.67 (W)
on the 4.0 scale

I have a strong upward trend in grades (just mentioning)

WOW: your stats are almost IDENTICAL to mine (right down to the religion).

I assume you are looking into molecular science.

I know it's not east coast, but give Illinois-Champaign and Illinois-Chicago a look as a low match and Wisconsin-Madison as a match.
High matches could be Cornell and Carnegie Mellon.
Safeties could include Rutgers and UC-San Diego.

Thanks for the reply! The chicago area is pretty much the only area besides the coasts that I'm looking at :) Good to hear UCSD is a match/safety.

What other colleges are you looking at iron?

I want to major in economics or political science, so my school list is a little different. My dream school is Princeton...but I'd happily settle with Northwestern or Carnegie Mellon. I'm also looking at Carleton, Oberlin, UChicago, Tufts, Michigan, Wisc-Madison, Cornell, American, Kenyon, Denison, Rochester, Boston U., GW, Maryland, Colby, Bowdoin...and a few more.

I clearly need to narrow my list down to about ten, though I'd ideally like to visit all of these schools first. I've only visited four so far and eliminated one (Lehigh...just wasn't for me).

Junior year makes my head spin.

I haven't looked west of Minnesota much, but I have a friend who visited UCSD and liked the campus.
