My D is considering several Catholic u's (BC, Georgetown, USantaClara, Villanova, maybe others but not ND), and we are not a Catholic family. In fact, we are not religious and are not members of any church, although our family culture most likely resembles Protestant tradition. I am interested in any input, good and bad, from those of you Non-Catholics who have attended (or have children who have attended) a Catholic u, for the obvious reasons: Did you feel like an outsider? Did you feel pressured or judged in any way? Did you find any situations offensive to your personal beliefs? Any regrets?

Our family sounds very much like yours. My daughter attended a Jesuit university and wouldn't trade the experience for the world. In a sense, she was a minority, but was never ostracized or made to feel uncomfortable. She received an extraordinary education there. My son will be attending the same school and is very much looking forward to it. My husband attended a Jesuit university for his Master's degree and loved every minute of it. The Jesuits make everyone feel welcome and important. But they do work you hard! Don't hesitate to visit the school, talk to people and get a feel for the campus before you make a decision.
