I am dreaming of becoming a film director and I want to lay my foundation through my college years.

I want to learn about film industry and production and also want to deeply study other humanities subjects like psychology or philosophy.
(it's the reason why I chose LACs rather than NYU or other prestigious film schools.)

Among liberal arts colleges strong in film...
I know Wesleyan and Bard.

Who knows more?
please.. let's share the list!

As much as you may hate this....Go to NYU,USC, or UCLA, they will land you a great internship and a great job.
You can study the humanitarians as well as a minor.

Wesleyan has a very good representation of successful producers/writers in Hollywood. But I agree with those who suggest you look at schools that offer access to great internships.

Might I second the suggestion of USC School of Cinematic Arts? If you are accepted to USC's Thematic Option program (honors college) you'll get the best professors and small classes for special GE classes--like a select (only 200 freshmen get accepted) LAC within a large university.

My S is a new freshman at USC this year and has already been invited to a special screening of the opening episode in the series "Bones" at the Imax theatre across the campus, invited to a special dinner with the creator of "Dextor" and a free performance of "A Midsummer Night's Dream" as part of Thematic Option. If you look closely at other fine universities, you may discover similar programs which give you a great film school plus more.
