Looking for lib/arts, music, photography

can anyone recommend a good liberal arts college, that has a decent orchestra, with bassoon, and some OK photography courses?

Thanks,

It depends so much on your stats. Williams is supposed to have a great music department as well as art history but is very hard to get into. Bard might be worth a look.

Bard would be a great choice - although the photography department is much better than just ok - and the program is very competitive. The music program is fantastic. And the college orchestra plays very interesting material.

Bard, Ithaca.

Also look into Williams and Vassar. I know Williams has a very good orchestra and well known studio art program (not sure about photography, in particular.)

As someone said on another thread - colleges which have the reputation for being artsy, live up to their rep and actually are good schools for students interested in the arts.

Some smaller universities like Suny Purchase, Suny New Paltz and Oklahoma City University may have what you are looking for. Best of luck!

SUNY Purchase has a major, highly competitive conservatory staffed with many faculty/instructors who also teach at Juilliard, MSM, Bard, Mannes, and a host of other metro area/New England high level programs.

Investigate, but my recollection is that participatory (non-major) playing opportunities may well be severely limited.
