Looking for MFA or Acting Programs

I currently attend Columbia’s MFA Acting program and I couldn’t be happier. While the program doesn’t have a lot of money–we do have Kristin Linklater, Ann Bogart, Andrei Serban, Chuck Mee, and Gregory Mosher. Also, if you come to Columbia YOU WILL GET YOUR EQUITY CARD. As of this year, through our long standing relationship with CSC (Classic Stage Company), all 3rd year actors who participate in the spring with the Young Company (And EVERYONE is allowed to participate whether they are cast or an understudy) will be Equity eligible. For those of you who are not familiar with actors’ unions, I can’t tell you what a huge advantage this will be to those actors lucky enough to graduate from Columbia. In fact, we are the only New York City grad program that can promise you your Equity card by graduation.

Also, we will no longer be in contract with the Riverside Church Theatre. Thesis productions (both for the actors and the directors) will now be downtown. As I understand it we are looking at various spaces to work with in the hopes of developing a long-term relationship. Showcase for the actors is always downtown. Check out the website and come see a show and decide for yourself.
