these are the schools im certain about applying to but i need more. So any suggestions???

George Washington
Penn State
Villanova
Uconn
Boston U

Here's a suggestion:

Instead of grouping all of your accomplishments in one clump, you should organize them into different sections.

If I were an admissions officer, I would be too dang tired to read through that entire list if it weren't organized better. However, since I'm not an officer, I did read the whole thing, and it would be MUCH better if you organized them into groups.

point well taken...ok heres an edit

Holy Cross, Fairfield, Rochester, Union College for their 7 year BA/MD program, Bucknell

bucknell i like...any other opinions?!

buuummmppp

Johns Hopkins, Brown, Penn, Columbia

uhh yea theres is absolutely NOOO WAY id get into those lol, thanks for the morale booster tho

Maybe you are selling yourself short the Doogie. You say your school is known and you seem to have some good resources for letters of recommendation.....whom have you spoken with?

spoken with about...

I second U of Rochester for pre-med.

I third U of Rochester, but it might be a little bit of a reach. Also add Franklin and Marshall, Dickinson, Goucher, Washington & Jefferson, Wheaton College (Mass.), Allegheny, Lafayette and Muhlenberg as solid matches for your stats. F&M and Washington & Jefferson in particular do a very good job with med school placement. Further south, look at Furman and Rhodes. Moving west from NY, there's Case Western, Dension, the College of Wooster, Kenyon, and Oberlin in Ohio. Just over the Ohio/Indiana border is Earlham - they had a 100% admit rate to medical school last year.

Since you seem to like public universities, you might also take a look at the U of Vermont, UNC-Ashville, Miami U (Ohio), James Madison in Virginia, Clemson, and the U of New Hampshire. Towson State and the University of Maryland-Baltimore County (both in Maryland) might also be worth a quick look because they allow cross-registration at Johns Hopkins for some classes. However, if you need financial aid, bear in mind that out of state students may not get the greatest financial aid packages at public universities so be sure to include a few privates.

Holy Cross pre-med is better than most schools on the list. Long list of famous alums including Nobel Prize Winner .

i heard of maybe about like 3 colleges on carolyns list....idk bout that, it worries me

James Madison i considered but it seems to be a party school and not particularly known for science. Am i wrong?

Why worry? You asked for help identifying schools. It makes perfect sense that you may not have heard of many of them. It's probably time to get to their websites and other sources of information and find out about them and how they fit with what you want.

i like holy cross, but the other schools dont seem to make sense for pre-med, any others?

Lafayette
Case Western Reserve
Lehigh

How do the other schools not make sense for pre-med? all of them will have the necessary courses. Most of them will have extra resources to guide their students in preparing and applying to med school. all of them will have some kind of track record for how well their students do in getting into med school. If the colleges mentioned in all the various posts don't meet your criteria for other reasons that's fine, but they all "make sense" for pre med.

if u want to look at them from ur perspective, ur right they do make sense...but from my perspective, they arent in areas where there is an abundance of research opportunities or major hospitals, and they arent considered magnet schools for medical schools...some of them at least

lehigh is interesting tho, i looked into it, i love what the SCHOOL says about themselves but ive heard that drinking and greek life is very controlling over there, and im not down with that.

Case western i will look into tho. Lafayette too, those schools ive heard good things about concerning their pre-med/med acceptances. Especially case.

If you're looking at Lafayette and Lehigh, definitely consider Drew University. Strong bio and science research programs, close proximity to New York and beautiful campus.
