Looking For More Engineering Colleges

Here is a link to a current thread with lots of good ideas: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1848773-math-science-tech-schools-besides-mit-caltech.html#latest

Also, a link to the Association of Independent Technological Universities: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1848773-math-science-tech-schools-besides-mit-caltech.html#latest

And finally, one of my favorite sites for analyzing different engineering programs: http://profiles.asee.org/

Good luck & aloha.

OP is only a junior. Can still apply EA next year if interested in GT. EA was 45% admit rate last year, overall was 32%. OP’s stats make him a strong candidate either way. Many of their rejections are less qualified kids, including GA residents reaching for the best school in the state. For a high-stats student strong in math (AP calc is a must), GT is not very hard to get in. Getting out is another story.

For OP, GT may be a fit if affordable. It’s mid size (16k undergrad), so it has all the perks of a large school without being overwhelming. It has a distinct campus right in midtown Atlanta, so you have the “bubble” vibe of a smaller college with a major city just steps away. It also has big time sports, and stellar reputation with employers.
