Looking for more schools (please help)

I've already applied to a few schools (university of denver, universtiy of puget sound, american, northeastern, and u of oregon), but I'm not sure how well I can see myself in any of these schools.

here are some of my stats
sat - 1410
act - 31
sat ii - writing 740, math ic 680, lit 650
gpa - 3.95 (no AP classes. my school offers many, but I just never took them)

I go to a really good public school in new mexico. it doesn't rank, but i imagine i am in at least the top 20 or 15%

my ECs
german club - 2 years, vice president, participated in an exchange program
local democrat group - 2 years, did things like working at the caucus...
key club - 10th grade
band - 9th grade
I know my ECs aren't very good. I tried to participate in school activities, but it was hard because my parents are divorced and live in different towns. Because of their cutodial situation, i had to spend my weekends in the town where i do not go to school. I don't know if that makes my lack of ECs any better...I didn't put it on my previous apps.

I also have a job at the local library.

I was looking for some smaller sort of schools that offer a major in german. Location doesn't really makes no difference to me. I do want to be able to study abroad, though. If any of you have any suggestions, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

you have good stats, you should definetly aim higher, look into LAC's.

I agree with Liek. Two schools that came immediately to my mind are Southwestern U in Texas and Dickinson in Pennsylvania. Both have very, very strong language programs (including German) and great study abroad options. Southwestern can be very generous with merit money for people in your stat range. A few others to check out: Beloit, St. Olaf, Middlebury, Carleton, Haverford.

A few other LAC options to check out - Occidental, Connecticut College, Kenyon College and Lawrence University.

thank you all very much :)
