looking for MS/PhD admissions in USA - Engineering

<p>As I have mentioned earlier, I'm Arun from India. I'll be completing my undergraduate studies in mechanical engineering by mid of June. I'm planning to do MS and PhD in USA. Before asking the question let me first give a short summary of my profile,</p>

<p>Undergraduate aggregate : 78%, in terms of CGPA it can be taken as 7.8 or 7.9
12th standard : 73%,
10th standard : 85%.</p>

<p>GATE 2013 qualified with 96.5 percentile.</p>

<p>Have done 2 internships. One in Aerospace department, Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, Karnataka, India. and the other in Defense Research and Development Organization, Bangalore, Karnataka, India.</p>

<p>Planning to apply for Sept, 2014 admissions during this time I'll be working as Research Assistant in Indian Institute of Sciene, Bangalore.</p>

<p>I want do my graduate studies in Applied Mechanics or Aerospace Engineering.</p>

<p>I would like to what I need to do in the 1yr time which I get before I apply to Universities in order to get admissions in top universities with sufficient scholarship.
I would also like to know few of the universities which would mostly take me in.</p>

<p>What about GRE and AGRE?</p>

<p>Best advice is to make the most of your time at IISC. it is an excellent research institution and if you do well you can get strong letters of recommendation. Also prepare for the GRE and do well in it.</p>
