Looking for online courses, not programs. (Help?)

Hey there.

I’m taking this upcoming semester off from college. While I’m away, I’m allowed to take online courses for credit, and I would very much like to do so. I’m just having trouble navigating the vast course offerings on the internet. May I ask anyone reading this for your experiences/advice/opinions?

I want to find a place that:

  1. Allows me to take two or three undergraduate courses, without having to subscribe to a full-fledged online degree program.
  2. Is legitimate. Preferably, an established traditional university that has online course offerings during the spring semester.

I’m searching, but I also feel very overwhelmed with my inexperience in this. Any help you could give me would be so very appreciated.

As a resident of FL, I used the SREB’s Electronic Campus ( [Welcome</a> to the Electronic Campus!](<a href=“http://www.electroniccampus.org/]Welcome”>http://www.electroniccampus.org/) ) to find online courses. This was very, very helpful to me (also helped to locate courses that are offered at a cheaper 'E-rate). But it is limited to colleges and schools in the Southeastern US.

I would recommend Umass Amherst online.
