<p>my first copy of this essay was edited by a few very kind moms, and was sent in for RD. I've made some changes to the ending of this essay to fit the commonapp topic better, and now it REALLY reflects a parent essay. but because of this, i'm looking for more opinions, since the topic is kinda.. risky. </p>
